Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree!

December is always so action packed with festivities and events. School functions, work functions, Christmas shopping, family and friend get togethers. Its insane. But somewhere in all that we managed to find the time to do something I have been wanting (ok begging) to do for YEARS.

Get a real Christmas tree.

My husband has always been so against it for some reason. I don't know if it was the concern of maintenance or what but he's always shot me down with some excuse as to why we couldn't or shouldn't have one. When we first got married he said money was the issue. When we moved to Arizona he blamed it on the climate. But now that we're back in North Carolina there were no excuses to be found.

So, I hunted down a super cute Christmas tree farm (so cute!) that was just on the other side of town called Justice Farms. Its a family owned and operated farm that's been around since the 1800's. They give you the option of picking out a fresh cut tree or chopping down your own. I knew the man wouldn't go for chopping down a tree so we opted to pick out a freshly cut fraser fir.

I had NO idea that picking out a tree would be this hard. We spent an hour walking up and down the rows trying to pick out the perfect tree for our living room. It was such a hard decision. You would have thought we were house hunting. Even the kids couldn't decide.

My daughter trying to find the "best Christmas tree ever"!

In the end we finally found a great tree and grabbed a location ticket to turn in. Once we paid for the tree a member of the Justice family rounded up the tree for us and even cut the bottom off the trunk and then wrapped up the tree.

But while they got our tree we walked over to their train and took a train ride tour of the farm! How cute! It really was a great experience. I love our tree and I can't wait until next year to do it all over again. Even the man was excited. He pretty much decorated the tree by himself and he normally wants nothing to do with it. We were worried about whether or not we would kill our tree so we picked out a smaller one, but so far so good. Next year I plan on getting one MUCH bigger (we're talking ceiling touching tall). And of course it will be from Justice Farms.

Our tree :)

*Please note these words and opinions are mine and only mine. I was not compensated for this post. I simply enjoyed my experience at Justice Farms and wanted to share it on my blog. Thank you.
